Somene long back said -there is no artist studio in the world where you will not find a study-sketch superior to the finished painting. unfortunate and unfair but true i believe.

- I am a full time painter I paint what I see. It is not the subject but the shapes, tones, color and there relation along with the play of light that crates a sensation. I paint because I wish to respond and communicate this sensation. The selection of shapes and tones rendered in realistic style with washes and brushstrokes is my painting. The selection is my vision and creates a body for the sensation felt. If the viewer responds by saying “wow”, I believe he responds to that “abstract quality”,that”visual sensation” which I felt. This is probably my best reward and fulfillment than any long essay written by a critique

You have a wonderful way of mixing different techniques when composing your watercolours. Your use of light and white paper (like Andre Weyth) is also very powerful.
As for finished paintings versus sketches, I understand what you mean. I think that the immediacy of a sketch ties us to the scene more intimately than a painting where we may have spent several sessions working out the details. The finished painting may be technically superior, but the sketch still holds a special charm.
