Goa house

Somene long back said -there is no artist studio in the world where you will not find a study-sketch superior to the finished painting. unfortunate and unfair but true i believe.

Nope. Your finished watercolor looks better than your sketch. Love the way you used salt for texture.

Thanks David. May be the sketch is rather intimate to me

And those soft and subtle tees off in the far distance are great. And, as usual, you have a vibrant color palette and strong contrasting value pattern.

just stumbled upon your web site - wonderful, sensitive and impressive paintings.

You have a wonderful way of mixing different techniques when composing your watercolours. Your use of light and white paper (like Andre Weyth) is also very powerful.
As for finished paintings versus sketches, I understand what you mean. I think that the immediacy of a sketch ties us to the scene more intimately than a painting where we may have spent several sessions working out the details. The finished painting may be technically superior, but the sketch still holds a special charm.
Keep up the excellent work.

Hi Milind!
This painting is really lovely, as is 'Ranade Gate' in the previous post. The foliage in it is very neatly done.
Your 'jaggu' is great and the caption made me smile...

Very nice. If somehow you are interested to know about temples of Goa, then you can visit Astrolika. There are some of the temples of Goa.
