Whad you lookin at?..sould I call it a mix media The painting is rather of illustrative nature..something I wanted to do very culturally representative .
I like this painting very much,Milindji!Whats its size?A few of us have already requested you to post the size. The messy wall and the blue is so lovely. You've painted some red spots and patches.Does it suggest "paan ki peek".Where did you get such a small size "Chak de" poster?Did you use opaque too?So many questions...Actually there are so many interesting things in it I couldn't help asking!
Yes, somewhat illustrative, and that's OK. Sometimes the line between illustrative and fine art can be very blurred. Have you ever seen the American artist Robert Rauschenburg's art? He died just last year. I really like what he did. I have two Turban man watercolor studies completed and plan to post them early March. Would you like me to email them to you? How are you doing on this paint off?
Hi MIlind, I love the graphic design quality to this painting. I admire things like this in paintings since it is something I do not do...yet :) What does the man in the upper left hand corner represent?
I am a full time painter
I paint what I see.
It is not the subject but the shapes, tones, color and there relation along with the play of light that crates a sensation.
I paint because I wish to respond and communicate this sensation.
The selection of shapes and tones rendered in realistic style with washes and brushstrokes is my painting. The selection is my vision and creates a body for the sensation felt.
If the viewer responds by saying “wow”, I believe he responds to that “abstract quality”,that”visual sensation” which I felt. This is probably my best reward and fulfillment than any long essay written by a critique

Wonderful composition beautifully rendered. Need I say the blue is quite stunning in this painting too!
