this was done on a untreated mdp panel in acrylic mixed with some oil pastels now and then.I like the absorbency of the untrated panel.later one has to treat it with varnish all six sides not to let it go fibers.
today I am thinking why do we keep on painting and go on creating pile of..

I loved the bright orange and the green shades and how well they are contrasted and then how wonderfully it is calmed by the earthy brown colors.. very balanced...
This is quite wonderful. I love the texture that the pastels afford. Also, you have a very nice vignette, which I think your panel choice contributes to.

And regards why we paint...in my case,- to feel that may be I have something to show at the end of the day, that I matter on some level -- to say there is more to life than cooking,cleaning, laundry.....so I won't lose my mind...!
What an inviting door! I do not know of that board that you are painting on. But is sure works on this one. Love the colors.
We paint for the same reason that we breathe...it is what keeps us alive!!!
Love the colors, texture, and drips. I paint and draw for the challenge in terms of mastering the mediums and showing people images that give them pleasure. Also when i do plein air art, it connects me with whatever I am trying to render and forces me to do more seeing and less thinking.
Beautiful! I want to enter that door to see what lies beyond.
Perhaps your panel is what we call MDF, medium density fiberboard. I like it, too, but usually gesso it before painting.
