Goa house

Somene long back said -there is no artist studio in the world where you will not find a study-sketch superior to the finished painting. unfortunate and unfair but true i believe.

seven unusual things about me..most might be very usual

1.I studied engineering to find out i wanted to be an artist

2.I can play guitar pretty well but I think painting is a better solo game.

3.though iwear shoes I never wear socks exept for really cold season.

4.I dont have a single pair of casual wear on which I have not spilled some acrylic paint.

5.have 2 kids and a wife who is a good critique.

6.I rarely start one painting and finish it rather start many and leave them for later date.

7.I like internet and blogging yet i keep on thinking i should be painting

Now list of 7 bloggers to tag,I am not too sure how to create hyperlinks so...

Sunday noon

In her hand is morning paper..Sunday man..it is not everyday.
Once more i am happy with a kind of Blurr impressionist look which I could retain.Yes..I want to paint like Benard Dunsten. The small painting you see on top corner is "Red Zinger" by Jason waskey. If you have a good eyesite you might even notice all his brushstrokes on the spoon.

Rustic Beauty

Rather a quick attempt, not the best face I have painted but i was quiet happy because i managed to leave some under painted green in the face and hopefully have caught the rustic look intended. During the exhibition we put red dot on a painting sold. A friend of mine asked weather the custom came from the same Indian red "bindi" tradition denoting the unavailability.

Kitchen

It took me about two months to finish this..dont believe? Very ambitiously I started this interior setting up my easel on Sunday morning. The light would change but I had taken a digital picture as well blocked in the masses within 15 minutes. Soon after a heavy lunch I found myself dozing till the end of daylight. The next few days I started working further on this one and would keep it away in less than 5 minuets. Finally yesterday I put a final word and fished it since I have to put up in my solo exhibition called “At Home” starting day after tomorrow

Puddle mirror

I loved those puddles and reflection. On our roads you get lots of such wonderful reflection puddles in a single shower .This is why I am happy with our town road building authorities while most people are cursing them. this is acrylic on some kind of oil paper, though a bit illustrative I was happy doing more detailed work than usual.

Old man

I guess he was a very honest looking old man. Some of my friends when I show them this portrait say he looks a bit like Osama while the other say he looks like Osho. Some just say I have painted the beard very good.

Blue Wall

How is this one? Blue wall with a pinch of salt. For a long time I wondered how some of these guys in typically low income housing areas of India paint their walls all blue, I mean such a strikingly bright cerulean cobaltish blue even a "colorist" architect/designer would not dare to use in such quantity Later I realized the color actually comes in powder form for a very cheap price, mixed with water and serves the purpose of paint and plaster together.

Mix Media

this is mix media, acrylics combined with some oil pastels on untreated mdf board. For long time I struggeled creating texture layering with oil pastels over acrylics over oil pastels over acrylics.
The final dark ultramarine blue has pulled it together,i think.

Dubai visit

Last week I had a demo and slide show followed by a mini workshop in Dubai.
The event was organized by “Maharashtra Mandal” in Dubai. The response was indeed overwhelming as very satisfying. More and more people out there are becoming aware and interested of visual art along with music and theatre.
The following mini workshop as we called it “watercolor creativity experience had about 70 participants including some very young kids along with both parents. we had a wonderful time together.
The nest day was a quick demo organized by Mr. Panse at International art centre for some serious art pursuers.
