Indeed a door and a wiindow of old Maharashtrian wada is a wonderful subject..i love painting doors and a windows..yet..around here the subject is little too popular these days and becoming kind o clitche.

but why should i worry because the subj. is clitche, if i love to paint it..

But there is always a tiny thought ,this could be more salable..??...who cares...

i call it" door" for sale and paint it happily.

another one on mdf board ..we are always learning.sometimes more we know less spontenious can we be..the learning curve keeps going more and more vertical with more chances to slide downwards..

orange door

this was done on a untreated mdp panel in acrylic mixed with some oil pastels now and then.
I like the absorbency of the untrated panel.later one has to treat it with varnish all six sides not to let it go fibers.
today I am thinking why do we keep on painting and go on creating pile of..

Shaniwar peth 10 a.m.

this is a scene which I used to see almost evrery day on my way to studio few years back,I have painted here sitting in a car.this one is from a photo shot long back.the road is no more or never as empty as i have shown.

Murud House

This must be 33rd attempt of this particular spot. Don’t get surprised, I always do 2-3 attempts of most paintings .this one i do as a demo in my watercolor course to illustrate direct approach as well as various color and light relations. Fortunately I can still amuse myself by trying something new in that each time.

3 girls on FC college road in rain

obviously you can see 3 girls..you can see thay are on the road..you can see it is raining
but for those who dont know the road is FC college road.FC stands for Fergussion College yet not many people call it FC road but FC college road.
Full sheet watrecolor and had to hold my breath controling wet in wet effects..like it?

Moodyscape

Mood and atmosphere in landscape is always assiciated with quality of light painted.
Early morning or evening shots with misty or foggy look with most objlects againt light create a drama of light and we tend to call it mood in the atmosphere.on the other hand wonderful landscapes or busy colorful streetscapes in crystal clear whether or strong sunshine hve differnt mood.they are not as often praised as mood carrying ones.my argument is "mood" is not just against light ,misty atmospheric perspective.anyway..
here is one of my "mood"scape.

Wai cross

watercolor for a change on my blog where i 've been mostly uploading acrylic stuff lately.
Arches is really the best watercolor paper available today.It can retain your washes wonderfully even if you go glazing over it many times.

Archway Blue

It is true that many people around here paint their walls blue and as long as it facinates me my blue phase will continue.

Fortunately i was on the right time because soon afterwards the guy in the house also painted the stones around the arch in the blue-paint left with him.

The top two are by David Lobenberg ..what he has done so far..,whom I am "facing" in this paint off ..He is indeed a bold colorist and good with faces.

and below some 3 attemptss I am still trying .Usually i do more than 1 attempts and realize probably first was the best.This time I am not sure probably first is not as good as third which is better than the second which is not as good as first ..got it?

When it come to painting Face..face it, there is always a tie between a painterly rendition and getting likeness.

Masters are those who achive both.. like Charles Reid who make our life unhappy

You might wonder all three men look different..Ya ,most of the time people whom i portray refuse to look like their portraits...not my fault..
